Attributes

Overview

Attributes are calculated variables / characteristics based on the underlying credit report data that provide insight into a consumer's credit profile. There are two broad categories of attributes:

Standard

Standard attributes are calculated solely from the most recent data contained in the consumer's current report. Although they can be calculated by the users of credit data, leveraging attributes provides benefit by eliminating the computation time and cost required to derive the statistics.

Trend

Trend attributes are calculated using current and historical data - which is not contained in the current report - to indicate directional change. Since Credit Reporting Agencies are required by law to provide only the most current data on consumers, trend attributes cannot be calculated by users of credit data for prospective customers.

Bloom Attributes

Each of the major credit bureaus maintains an extensive catalog of attributes available for purchase.

Bloom Credit offers a curated and normalized catalog of attributes to clients that are available irrespective of the underlying source of the credit report. These attributes are divided into the following broad categories:

  • Student Loans
  • Delinquencies (currently unavailable)
